ServicesStorm Damage Repair
Storm Damage Repair in Tuttle, Handled in Order
After hail or high wind, we walk your roof, photograph what the storm actually did and explain it before anything is decided. Then we make the roof safe, help you understand the claim steps and plan the repair so your home is properly finished, not rushed.

What storm damage repair covers
Storm damage repair is the work that follows a hail or wind event: finding every place the roof was hurt, securing anything that could let water in, and then repairing or replacing what the storm ruined. Some of that damage is obvious, like shingles lying in the yard. Much of it is quiet. Hail can bruise a shingle and knock loose the granules that shield the asphalt from sun, and the leak may not show up until months later.
We bring 30+ years of roofing experience and an Oklahoma CIB roofing license to that first look, and we work in a deliberate order. Separate what is urgent from what can wait, document everything, then plan the permanent work around your claim and your schedule. A calm sequence tends to produce a better roof and fewer surprises on the bill.
What the work includes
A full roof and exterior walk
We check shingles, ridge caps, flashing, vents, pipe boots and skylights, then the gutters, downspouts and window screens. Dents in soft metal often tell us the size and direction of the hail.
Photos and written notes
You get clear photos of each damaged area with notes on what we saw. That record is useful whether you file a claim or not.
Temporary protection
Where wind has opened the roof, we tarp or seal it so the decking and attic stay dry while the permanent plan comes together.
Insurance steps explained
We walk you through how an adjuster visit usually goes and what to ask. We can meet the adjuster on your roof to point out what we found, but the coverage decision stays between you and your insurer.
Permanent repair or replacement
Small, contained damage gets a matched repair. When hail has hit every slope, we talk through roof replacement and the shingle choices that hold up better against impact.
Cleanup and a final check
Old shingles, nails and debris leave with us, and the yard is swept with a magnet. We look over the finished roof with you before we call the job done.

Signs a storm has damaged your roof
- Granules in the gutters
- A heavy layer of dark grit at the downspouts after hail usually means shingles lost their protective coating.
- Dented metal
- Dings in gutters, vents, or the air conditioner fins are a good hint the roof took hits too.
- Missing or lifted shingles
- Wind can break the seal strip so tabs flap or tear away. A lifted shingle may still be on the roof but no longer keeping water out.
- New ceiling stains
- A brown ring or a damp spot after a storm means water has already found a path through.
- Neighbors filing claims
- If several houses on your street are getting new roofs, it is worth having yours looked at, even if it seems fine from the ground.
How a storm repair job runs
- 1
Inspection and photos
We go up on the roof, document the damage and talk you through it at the kitchen table or on the phone afterward.
- 2
Secure what can't wait
Open areas are tarped or sealed right away so a second storm doesn't add interior damage to the list.
- 3
Claim and planning
If you file, we help you understand the adjuster's report and compare it with what we found. Then we set a work date and order materials.
- 4
The repair day
We cover shrubs and protect the driveway, tear off only what needs to come off, inspect the decking underneath and install new underlayment, flashing and shingles. Most of the noise and mess wraps up within the day.
- 5
Walk-through
We review the finished work and photos with you and leave the site cleaner than we found it.
What moves the cost of storm repair
Storm repair costs depend on how much of the roof the storm reached and what we find once damaged material comes off. We give you a written, line-by-line estimate so you can see each item and compare it with your insurance paperwork. Your deductible is set by your policy, not by us.
- How much of the roof was hit
- Damage confined to one face, such as a handful of creased or torn shingles, stays a modest job. When impact marks turn up on every face of the roof, replacing it is often the more sensible use of your money.
- Decking condition
- If water has soaked or softened the plywood under the shingles, those sheets get replaced, and that only shows once the roof is opened.
- Shingle choice
- Matching an older shingle can be harder than it sounds. Upgrading to an impact-resistant shingle costs more up front and may affect your premium, which is worth asking your insurer about.
- Flashing, vents and gutters
- Dented vents, bent flashing and damaged gutters add to the scope, though each is priced separately so you can see it.
- Permits and roof pitch
- We pull the permit where the city requires one. Steep or multi-level roofs take more time and safety setup.
Storm damage questions we hear
- Should I call my insurance company or a roofer first?
- Many people find it helpful to have the roof inspected first so they know whether there is real damage worth a claim. You'll have photos and notes in hand when you talk to your insurer. Either order works, and we're glad to explain what we see either way.
- Can I wait until storm season is over to fix it?
- Small cosmetic damage can often wait while you plan and budget. Openings, lifted shingles and active leaks should be secured now, because the next storm can turn a roof problem into a ceiling and insulation problem. We'll tell you plainly which category your roof falls into.
- What if the adjuster misses damage you found?
- It happens. We share our photos and notes so you can ask your insurer to take another look. We explain what we found and why, but we don't negotiate your claim on your behalf.
- Will repaired shingles match the rest of my roof?
- We look for the closest available match in color and profile. On older roofs an exact match may no longer be made, and we'll show you samples so you can decide whether a repair or a fuller replacement looks right on your home.
- How do I know you're a reputable company?
- We hold an Oklahoma CIB roofing license, and we show you photos of everything we find. Ask us anything about how we'll handle your job before you agree to it.
